FAQ about dental prosthesis
Is an artificial alternative to replace the spaces left by missing teeth. They are custom-made in a lab under the supervision of the dentist to restore the esthetics of the smile and the mouth functionality.
Dental prostheses are painless. Pain can only occur in the case that the prosthesis doesn’t fit well. Proper hygiene and a correct dental follow-up after the placement of the prosthesis will avoid any kind of pain or discomfort in the area.
Depending on the method of placement and characteristics, there are different types of dental prostheses, such as fixed prosthesis, removable prosthesis and flexible prosthesis.
Between 5 and 10 years, depending on the care and material used.
If we do not clean the dental prosthesis properly, bacteria and food debris can accumulate, causing problems in our oral mucosa, damage to healthy teeth, inflammation in the gums or partial loss of functionality of the prosthesis.
